Dream
of
English As
a
Gemini
born
and
raised
in
a
Chinese-speaking
environment,
I
have
always
dreamed
of
speaking
English
fluently.
I
remember
watching
American
sitcoms
with
my
mother
when
I
was
young,
and
being
mesmerized
by
the
way
the
characters
spoke.
I
couldn't
understand
most
of
what
they
said,
but
I
knew
I
wanted
to
be
able
to
speak
like
them. In
elementary
school,
I
started
taking
English
classes
as
part
of
the
curriculum.
However,
the
classes
were
focused
on
memorizing
vocabulary
and
grammar
rules,
and
there
was
little
emphasis
on
speaking
and
listening
skills.
I
felt
frustrated
and
discouraged,
and
my
dream
of
speaking
fluent
English
started
to
fade. It
wasn't
until
high
school
that
I
found
a
teacher
who
was
passionate
about
teaching
spoken
English.
She
encouraged
us
to
practice
our
speaking
and
listening
skills
in
class,
and
even
organized
a
language
exchange
program
with
a
school
in
the
United
Kingdom.
Through
this
program,
I
was
able
to
interact
with
native
English
speakers
and
gain
more
confidence
in
my
own
abilities. After
graduating
high
school,
I
decided
to
study
English
as
my
major
in
university.
I
knew
it
would
be
a
challenge,
but
I
was
determined
to
improve
my
language
skills.
I
spent
hours
every
day
reading
English
books,
watching
English
movies,
and
practicing
my
speaking
with
classmates. Now,
as
a
young
adult,
I
am
proud
to
say
that
I
have
achieved
my
dream
of
speaking
fluent
English.
I
can
easily
communicate
with
native
English
speakers,
and
even
dream
in
English
sometimes.
English
has
opened
up
many
opportunities
for
me,
both
personally
and
professionally. My
advice
to
anyone
who
shares
the
same
dream
is
to
never
give
up.
Learning
a
new
language
takes
time
and
effort,
but
the
rewards
are
worth
it.
Find
a
teacher
or
mentor
who
can
guide
you
along
the
way,
and
seek
out
opportunities
to
practice
speaking
with
native
speakers.
And
most
importantly,
believe
in
yourself
and
your
ability
to
achieve
your
goals. In
conclusion,
my
dream
of
speaking
English
has
been
a
long
and
challenging
journey,
but
